CHINA TRIP OPENS EV MARKET FOR ARIZONA TECH STARTUP
A trip to China for a young Mesa, Arizona-based businessman and the CTO of his tech accelerated company has resulted in a positive result with a high profile company.
Nicolas Cuevas, Executive Chairman of US-based Urbix Resources and the company’s Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Palash Gangopadhyay recently traveled to China to meet with representatives of BYD Co., the Chinese electric-vehicle maker backed by Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Energy holding company.
Cuevas and Gangopadhyay made the trip to talk about Urbix’s proprietary High Voltage Electrolyte.
“We met with BYD to talk about how Urbix and BYD can work together to fully realize the superior nature of this technology, as well as the new marketing opportunities it will create,” says Cuevas. “BYD were terrific hosts and showed us some of their remarkable facilities.”
A few days after Cuevas and Gangopadhyay left China, Urbix and BYD signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) outlining the basic terms under which the two companies will work together.
The Urbix Electrolyte will extend the mileage factor by two and the battery itself will stay charged twice as long. Cuevas says Urbix anticipates the battery will last 7000 cycles, a number much higher than industry standard.
The unique composition of this Electrolyte means it will be stable and non-flammable. “It’s a game-changer, and the industry is sitting up and paying attention,” says Cuevas. “No one out there has anything quite like our Electrolyte.”
